The National Careers Service is available for free to every adult aged 19+ or 18 if they are not in education, employment, training or claiming benefits in England. The service has already helped millions of people improve their working lives. It provides information, careers and skills advice tailored to you.

Local support is available with one of our careers advisers over the phone or face to face - contact us to make an appointment in your area.

The National Careers Service makes it easy for everyone to find accurate information on learning and work, with professional advice to help you make the right choices. It’s free of charge and available online and over the phone.

How can the National Careers Service help?

Our advisers can:

  • explain the local jobs market and what various jobs entail
  • find out about different careers and the qualifications and skills required
  • look at the skills you already have and how to improve them
  • develop your CV and interview skills
  • find a local learning or training course
  • advise on funding to support your learning.
